Details:FAUST: Donnerstag, 15.08.02, 60er-Jahre-Halle Konzert SKA PUNK ATTACK * KING PRAWN * ZEN BASEBALLBAT * WHITMORE

Band!
Mit dabei: ZEN BASEBALLBAT, "electic lunatic"-7-Mann-Band aus Nordengland, eine betäubende Live-Band mit einer großen Bläsersection und WHITMORE, "the new kids on the block", die neulich Support für Less Than Jake, Millencollin und Reel Big Fish sipelten: Die Powerpunkpop-Bna aus Salisbury.

A HISTORY (in brief)

formed way back in london, King Prawn have reached the year 2002 as the UK's best kept secret.

possibly the best live band in the country KP play and an indescribable blend of angst ridden pop/punk that has left them labelled by the UK music press as a mix of the best parts of The Clash, Dead Kennedys and The Specials.

high praise for any band to aspire to but one the Prawn both relish and continue to equal at every opportunity.

the prawns debut album release "first offence" hit the streets in 1995 on the cult punk label Words of Warning.

helped along the recording path by long time friend/fan Ace(of Skunk Anansie fame) the recordings are harsh and hard hitting - the revisited release on MOONSKAEUROPE (OUT NOW) features bonus tracks and a cdrom live TV performance of the concert favourite "poison in the air".

their second album "fried in london" also re-released by MOONSKAEUROPE and IN STORES NOW first hit the streets in 1997 - a classic album in real terms - every track hits new hights, this album spurned the killer tracks Racist Copper,Increase the Pressure and Survive.

tours with the likes of Goldfinger, Therapy, Snuff, One Minute Silence, Less Than Jake and alike cemented the band as the band to live upto on the buoyant UK skapunk scene, where they have stayed ever since.

champaign and money followed with the much heralded signing to SPITFIRE RECORDS in January 2000, the album recorded for the label "surrender to the blender" was preceded by the stunning ep "your worst enemy" and the singles "day in day out" & "someone to hate" the video of which appeared on MTV,VH1, VIVA and TV stations across europe and america (the track also featured on an EMI compilation that has sold over 30,000 copies to date).

2001 has seen KP take on the european music circuit.

a 30 night back to back tour across europe with The TOASTERS led to a number of festival appearances over the summer as well as headline club shows in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria.

ITALY has proven to be a real happening country for the band as well as appearing, as headline artists, to well over 10,000 people in Bressia the band have played 14 club dates in 2001 and made their debut on national TV on the infamous ROXY BAR show along side Atomic Kitten!!!.

the trips to Italy also led to routing shows in both Slovenia and Croatia where the band now play sell out club dates and appear on both national TV & RADIO.

the end of the year has seen the band take on a ridiculously hectic schedule, as well as writing, recording and co-producing their forth long player (reuniting themselves with ACE as a co-producer and with ROGER TEBBIT in the engineers seat) KP played host to US skapunk heroes BUCK'0'NINE on their first ever visit to the UK on a 12 night club tour in December 01

jan/feb 2002 saw the band haul through a 22 night UK tour, joined by new label mates WHITMORE, next it was off to europe again for the best part of six weeks which climaxed in 5 massive shows supporting BANDO BASSOTTI in italy

on MAY 1ST 2002 King Prawn will kick off their biggest UK tour date in London @ the LA2(mean fiddler) on Charing Cross rd, the tour will take in 29 shows across the UK and label mates Whitmore will once again be the main tour support

as a special incentive to the band' s loyal fanbase a very limited edition "tour only " single will be available each night, the CD will feature two brand new songs from the forthcoming album "got the thirst"

ALL THESE SHOWS ARE SUPPORTED BY MOONKAEUROPE and are promoting the re-releases of "FIRST OFFENCE" and "FRIED IN LONDON" across europe.
